By default, these files are in your i Tunes folder.

To regain some room to breathe, I decided to move my collections to an external drive.
If the problem is only moving everything inside the i Tunes folder to the external drive, a simple cut and paste would solve it. Nobody wants to re-fill hundreds (or thousands) of song information, re-assign all the ratings, re-paste all lyrics and re-hunt for the cover art.
If it is a relatively small library or one you don't mind moving, just select all of the files in itunes and copy them to a different location.
Then delete the entire contents of the itunes folder, and reimport the songs/whatever. Also, check to see if they are taking up much space, if not, then what is the harm in leaving them?
For this method you will need to export your library from the first computer (or user, as the case may be), and import it into the second computer as its final destination.
Many people may suggest just copying and pasting the i Tunes media files, which is fine if you just want the plain song, video, or pod cast but you should be warned that you will lose all of your metadata (read: playlists, ratings, play count) if you choose to go this way. In i Tunes on Computer B go to File-i Tunes folder on Computer A’s hard drive.
Well, you can manually do it by exporting the list of music in your library by right clicking the Music in the top left frame and selecting "Export." Then you could compare this to what is inside of your i Tunes folder. (Caveat: I’m on the latest i Tunes beta and it seems the script is over-eager to show my ringtones as missing from i Tunes when that isn’t really the case.) An alternative may involve making use of the i Tunes preferences for keeping your music folder organized - maybe if you move where i Tunes stores its music in your settings, it'll move just the files you're using?
