The letter added resonance to the work that the European Commission's Information Society and Media Directorate had been engaged in for over a decade, with programmes such as Telematics for Libraries.
It gave strong political endorsement to the Directorate's strategy, i2010: communication on digital libraries, which was published on 30 September 2005.
The document also has an example of original data, the same data converted to EDM and diagrams showing the distribution of the properties amongst the classes.
The full set of EDM classes and properties are being implemented incrementally, this document shows which are currently available.
Key messages relating to the impact of new technologies and processes on cultural heritage are especially welcome.

With this issue of Europeana Tech Insight, we’re happy to highlight several different examples of the extremely positive things that can happen when data and content are opened up.

The AGM brings together representatives of the Europeana Network Association to inspire each other, transfer knowledge, and make recommendations for the future of Europeana.
The AGM 2017 will be organised prior to the European Commission cultural event - European Culture Forum - which will be held on 7 & 8 December at the Superstudio Group, Via Tortona, 27, 20144 Milan, to which you are all cordially invited.
